Add a Home Security System to Your Fire Escape Plan

A security system:

Our house is monitored by our security system and helps us remain safe in several perilous situations. It really lets my family to rest easy both while we are away and while we are house Fire Escape Repair Boston

One excellent example of this is fire emergencies. My family has recently been reviewing and rehearsing our "Fire Plan". So, I thought I'd share some tips to help you produce a plan for your family at the same time.

That is job #1.

* Create and practice a fire escape plan by means of your loved ones. If your house alarm system goes off, be sure your family understands all of the possible exit paths to get outside your home, for example through a walkout basement, any window that is viable, or a front or back door. And, designate a place outside, away from your house, for the family to meet.

* Teach your family the security techniques they could use should a fire occur: wrap themselves in towels that are wet, crawl to avoid smoke, test doorknobs for heat etc., before opening doors

* Keep items that are potential fire hazards well preserved, water heater, for example your oven, washer and dryer, and so on. Keep these items free and clean from any dirt, grime, or lint that may ignite and cause fires.

* Have your house inspected often to be certain that your wiring is in good condition and doesn't want repairs.

* Keep tree limbs trimmed back away out of your house. If a lightning strike hits a nearby tree, a limb (if not the entire tree) could fall directly on your own house. Clearly, an important danger is posed by a burning tree limb falling on your home.

* Turn off or unplug fresh appliances. It reduces the danger of electrical fires (and saves money on the electric bill, too).

* Do Not leave candles burning in rooms or overnight where you're not spending time. While candles continue to be burning never leave house.

All these are merely several of the fire safety suggestions which are most significant to our family. Our Facebook Page.
